Our Story
If wishes could come true, a lot of us would have liked to eat whatever we like, and roam wherever we may— and these feelings are exactly what created the foundation of Travelistan. As Kolkata’s first travel cafe, we are driven by people’s passion towards food, and the passion for travel. Located in a city famous for its food experience, and catering to a community that counts food and travel as essential components of their culture, we wanted to create a space where they can gather and discuss these passions over some brews and bites. Our team — also very passionate about these ideas— work keenly towards finding new flavors from different geographies, and create an atmosphere which aims to explore different corners of the world— through books, magazines, photographs, music, exhibitions, interactive events, and obviously through our patrons engaging in long addas over these. As a cafe, we don’t just want to offer you food that we know of, we are eager to inculcate your food and travel experiences also in our fibers, by which we could create a dynamic space, where the soil is local, but manured with experiences from places far and remote, enriching our food and atmosphere with something new every day!
